Busy Bees and Stepping Stones are our 2-3 rooms and are staffed on a 1:5 ratio.
Busy Bees and Stepping Stones provide a nurturing safe and welcoming environment for our younger children. These interesting well- resourced rooms are filled with opportunities, which inspire curiosity, exploration and inquiry.
Practitioners are skilled at understanding the benefits of active learning through play and support children to develop important skills and independence. Planning is responsive to the child’s interests and the environment is designed to provide time, space and stimulus to capture the children’s imagination

In Busy Bees and Stepping Stones the children have the opportunity to develop early numeracy and literacy skills. In play situations early writing and mark making skills are supported with the use of resources which capture the child’s imagination and help develop their gross and fine motor skills Early mathematical concepts and numeracy skills are introduced through fun activities and supported by the environment. Language development is supported by rhyme, words and song, with the children encouraged to ask lots of questions and to express themselves with confidence.
The children in Busy bees and Stepping Stones have daily access to our extensive gardens and to a natural environment which they can explore using all of their senses and experience the changing seasons at first hand. The children can develop important life skills such as resilience and independence through encouragement to have a go and be confident.
In our 2-3 rooms practitioners use the Pre-birth to 3 best practice guidance. We offer a homely environment in which your child will have familiar routines and experiences to make them feel safe and nurtured, and where you will feel secure that their individual needs are respected and valued.
