Early Explorers
Early Explorers and Little Scholars are our 3-5 rooms and have a staff ratio of 1-8.
Early Explorers and Little Scholars offer a nurturing and caring environment in which each child is recognised as a “curious, capable and intelligent individual” Responsive planning takes into consideration the children’s interests in an enabling, creative and inspiring environment. The children have opportunities to lead their own learning through challenging experiences which help develop a passion for life long learning and skills for life.
Our children experience learning across all eight areas of the Curriculum for Excellence at the Early Level. We value a play based pedagogy which is supported by skilful practitioners to offer depth and breadth of learning and work in partnership with parents to identify individual learning goals for each child.

Literacy and Numeracy are embedded into our everyday practice, laying the best possible foundations for children to gain early maths and writing skills.
Children are involved in creating their own learning journals which records their significant progress and can be shared with parents at any time.
As the children approach school age we work closely with local primary schools to ensure the best possible transition and celebrate this special time with our annual graduation ceremony.
We offer extra-curricular activities in our 3-5 section with a sports class delivered by GR8 Sports and a dance class with Miss Janie’s Dance School. All of the children in the 3-5 section also take part in our Christmas Nativity and Summer Sport’s Day.
We strive to provide a broad and varied curriculum for the children by inviting companies a such as Zoolab to the nursery and to involve our parents and local community in a creative way.
